Nikki Morrison | SRUC Academic Board HE Student Member Manifesto
I’m Nikki Morrison, a second-year BSc (Hons) Animal Welfare Science student. I’ve always loved learning, and I’m standing to represent HE students on the Academic Board, whatever their course or circumstances.
I value teaching where questions feel welcome, with patience and understanding as we learn unfamiliar topics. I’ll bring three priorities to the Academic Board:
I’ve worked my way from frontline animal care and day-to-day operations to senior leadership and consultancy. That experience helps me weigh evidence, recognise competing priorities and ask difficult questions respectfully. I’ll use it to consider how decisions affect students in practice, informed by experiences beyond my own.
Returning to education was a big step. SRUC’s welcome and support have made me glad I did. I want to give something back by helping the Board make good decisions for students and SRUC.
I’ll work with SRUCSA and class reps to understand experiences across courses and campuses. I’ll use evidence and those perspectives to assess proposals and ask informed questions. I’ll propose relevant agenda items, follow up on issues I raise and share updates where appropriate.
I’d be proud to represent you. Vote Nikki Morrison, 26–29 October.
