SRUCSA is the students’ association of SRUC, here to make sure student voices are heard by the people who can make changes. It’s led by three co-presidents who are replaced every year with a new student team each of whom come with their own set of ideas, ideals and goals. Sounds chaotic? It could be. That’s why the Development Team exists, three full-time staff who keep things on track behind the scenes, making sure ideas don’t get lost, and the association keeps moving forward.

What the SRUCSA Staff Team Does

The officers are the ones you’ll see giving speeches, running campaigns and generally taking the spotlight. We’re the ones in the background making sure they’ve actually got the tools, knowledge and time to do it.

Between us we:

  • keep the association’s wheels turning year to year, so students don’t have to start from scratch every summer
  • turn the big ideas into real projects that last longer than an officer’s term
  • make sure class reps are elected, trained and supported
  • sit on committees and working groups so that student voice isn’t just heard but acted on
  • handle the logistics so that officers can focus on being the voice of our students

In some ways the officers are the headline act; we’re the stage crew making sure the lights work and all the instruments are in tune.
