What is “Student Representation”?CJfV3edWsAAcq-S

Obviously, when it comes to your education you want to know that you are getting the best possible learning and teaching experience. One that suits you, the way you prefer to learn and ensures that when you leave, you walk away with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in your chosen field of employment.

You, the Student are the whole reason a college exists so it makes sense that there should be a mechanism in place that allows you to express your thoughts and suggestions about your course and how its run and have them listened to and acted upon.

There are also regular decisions made by College staff about academic and support services as well as the management of resources within the college  such as computer and library facilities, all of which impact upon your experience. So, it is also important that students, as users of these services and facilities, have a say in how they are run to ensure that you are getting the best from them.

SRUCSA is here to provide you with that a way of doing just that!

How SRUCSA Works!

How SRUCSA Works!

Through the SRUCSA Representation System you are given a voice within the college to help monitor and review every aspect of your education.

At each level of SRUC we have an elected student representative whose responsibility is to collect opinion and to make sure the views of students are heard by staff and decision-makers and form an integral part of the decision making processes of the college.

Each year students are give the opportunity to elect a set of student representatives to be their voice within the college.

These include:

SRUCSA trains and supports these officers throughout the year in order to ensure that they are doing the best job they can for you.

In this way we are all able to make sure that the education that SRUC provides is tailored to the needs of You the student and the college is always getting better at what they do.

However, this process can only work if all students use their voice and engage with SRUCSA by telling what they think and making suggestions.
