The case for Craibstone – Student & Staff report

Since 2014 the management of SRUC have been considering proposals to move it’s Northeast base away from Craibstone into Thainstone in Aberdeenshire. Previous work undertaken by SRUCSA has shown an overwhelming majority of students do not support this proposal (for a number of reasons) and would prefer to remain at Craibstone – which although not perfect, is effectively a fit-for-purpose campus.

In March 2016 a student-led initiative began to put forward a report to argue for keeping SRUC Aberdeen at Craibstone. Staff were also involved in the process and this is the first time both the student union (SRUCSA) and staff union (EIS) had formally worked together.

You can read the report here – The case for Craibstone as the base for SRUC in NE Scotland

Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in this important process. The findings of the report are now being taken forward by elected SRUCSA & EIS officers to make a strong case for SRUC retaining it’s Northeast base at Craibstone in Aberdeen.
