On July 21^st SRUC announced that the student residencies at Elmwood campus will be closed with immediate effect. There are ongoing decisions to be made regarding the proposed golf course closure which we hope for an update on soon.

We are disappointed by this decision and are aware it will hugely affect a number of students going forward with their studies. SRUCSA consulted with residential students and forwarded the responses to SRUC during the consultation period. Student feedback is invaluable to making these decisions and we are saddened that it didn’t produce a positive outcome at this time.

To reiterate on our previous statement, the residencies are an important part of the SRUC student experience but do require improvement. We will be working with SRUC to find solutions and appropriate opportunities for students affected.
