The Roadtrip

September

Well we have had a very busy month. Alex and I travelled to all 6 campuses to deliver staff presentations to give staff at SRUC a better understanding of what a Students’ Association is. We felt that without staff support we could never engage students enthusiastically every presentation had a good turn out and staff were very interested in lending a helping hand.We also had our first executive team meeting at Oatridge Campus it was great to hear that all the team had great fresher weeks and for other campuses well planned fresher events still coming up. We had to extend our meeting over 2 days as we had so much to discuss from financing clubs and societies to planning our next events and surveys.

Myself, David and Graeme all ventured out to Barony to take part in the popular Barony Race which is run every year. Unfortunately for me I was last but it was the taking part that counts!

Finally Alex and I had our first Education Board meeting which was very daunting, especially considering we were the youngest in the room! However all staff and external seemed interested in what SRUCSA had been up-to.

As for October look out for the Halloween party taking place at Elmwood Campus and Fresher’s events taking place in Ayr, Edinburgh and Aberdeen Campuses.
