Covid January 2021

Today (January 4th 2021) the Scottish Government has announced that all of mainland Scotland will be under a new lockdown beginning at midnight tonight. We at SRUCSA know this is a difficult time, and a new lockdown brings new challenges. Please know that we are all here to help you in any way we can, and if you need anything please reach out at srucsa@sruc.ac.uk, or through any of our social media channels.

We are currently working with SRUC to understand what the new restrictions mean, and we will communicate any changes, if any are necessary, as soon as possible. For the latest information from SRUC please visit https://ww1.sruc.ac.uk/covid-19-information/ and check your student email address regularly.

Update  07/10/21: We have spoken to SRUC to ask about plans for exams, and they have told us an update will go out to students on Friday. Go to Moodle to see the previous update acknowledging the delay to on campus teaching.

Update 11/01/21: We were involved in discussions surrounding No Detriment – students are encouraged to go through the Mitigating Circumstances procedure if they feel that they have been impacted in a way that affects their ability to undertake upcoming assessments or exams. We will have further discussions with SRUC around what a No Detriment Policy (for the remainder of the Academic Year) might look like this Friday 15th January. If you have any thoughts on this, please get in touch with Central Co-President Amy or email us at srucsa@sruc.ac.uk

Best Wishes,

The SRUCSA Team.
