A Christmas Rescue Mission

This month we have had a lot of documents to write. We finalised our Student Partnership Agreement Part B and it has now been signed by the Acting Principle, Janet Swadling.jswadlingbdallspa

We promoted a safe sex campaign on social media with the helpful slogan “Wrap up this Christmas”and gave out free condoms to students at the Elmwood and Aberdeen Campuses. If you would like free contraception contact your guidance office, your Vice President, Campus Officer or myself!

I helped Oatridge Campus Officer, Alastair, hold a Campus Council meeting at the start of the month and spoke directly to students to find out what the issues were at the campus hoping to have them resolved. We are hoping to have FREE hot water available to students by January.

I also organised a Christmas Rescue Mission with the help of some Animal Care students at the Elmwood Campus. Staffie Smiles is a dog rescue that helps Staffordshire bull terriers find forever homes. We raised over £170 in under 2 hours and also educated students and staff that rescue dogs make great pets too. Elmwood’s traditional Christmas Service gave a great send off to the students and also retiring Dean of Campus, Carol Borthwick .
