This year, SRUC welcomed its first intake of international students.
SRUCSA have enjoyed meeting these students and supporting student led events that bring people together and create a fun community vibe on campus.
As this was a new project, there was a lot of feedback from staff and students about what went well and where we have opportunities to improve the student experience.
In early December 2025 the International Steering Group was established. It is Chaired by Peter Hastie, Head of Global Engagement, and has Executive sponsorship from Gavin Macgregor, COO and Deputy CEO.
The Chair commissioned a Lessons Learned Review (LLR), the output of which noted various recommendations. A critical element of this is the Student Feedback and Recommendations paper. Working groups have been put together to create Action Plans based on these recommendations. They will give updates to a monthly Steering Group, which a member of SRUCSA will attend.
This means we will have insight into changes happening as a result of the review and student feedback, and can keep you posted on progress as it comes through.
