Language Accessibility Promise: Logo Design Competition
We're inviting you to design a logo for the Language Accessibility Promise project.

When making the Language Accessibility Promise, institutions commit to using clear language and embedding this principle in the way they communicate.

Institutions promise:

  • To communicate directly, clearly and honestly
  • To assume no prior knowledge - avoid acronyms, initialisms and abbreviations
  • To offer a range of communication formats
  • To use technical terms only when necessary
  • To show compassion, consideration and understanding of students' needs and experiences in our approach to communication

Institutions that adopt the Language Accessibility Promise will display a plaque featuring the project’s logo.

This competition is open to all Scottish college and university students. The winning designer will receive a £250 prize.

Please submit your design by email to info@step.ac.uk by 5pm on 22 January 2026.
