What is Speak Week?

For the past four years SRUCSA gives every SRUC student the opportunity to freely and anonymously speak their minds though our Speak Week activities. This year it is more important than ever to understand how students experiences at SRUC are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

We ask every SRUC student on every course two questions;

What do you 💚 about SRUC?

and

If you ran SRUC what would you change?

The open questions invite students to give any feedback about their experience at SRUC but give them gentle prompts on five areas; Course Content, Facilities and Resources, Course Delivery, Assessment and feedback, and Help and Support.

In previous years we have received over 500 comments from across our campuses. Read last year’s report here. The responses from these surveys directly improves your experience on campus, as a result of previous Speak Week reports we now have loan laptop devices available on all campuses.

What’s happening this year?

We take the comments and combine students’ thoughts with all those that are returned to us and pull out the common themes. As well as a few good representative examples. We then produce a report that will be published to you and to SRUC. SRUC will be given the opportunity to respond to the report and highlight the actions they will be taking to address the concerns. We will publish the responses to students in the new year, and in the summer, we will follow up with the progress that has been made.

Is it too late to send back a card?

No, it’s not too late, we will continue to incorporate any feedback cards we receive in to the report, or we will deal with them separately if received after the report is written. Please feel free to return that at anytime.
